The ATLAS Foundation was founded by Jason Leonard and other rugby and corporate heavyweights to improve the lives of the poorest people on earth through the power of rugby.

After seeing the outstanding charity work done by rugby players and the rugby family here and overseas, we knew that we wanted to find a way to add our weight to their efforts, to improve the lives of disadvantaged people across the world.   Jason Leonard OBE

About Us

A 2min 30sec short film.

Why Rugby?

We use rugby as a tool for improving children's lives because:

  • it is our sport, and we have strong networks willing to help children across the world
  • the values of the game create fine young people who make solid life choices
  • child development structures lead into education and employment, lifting kids out of the cycle of poverty

Due Diligence

We work in some pretty corrupt places. To make sure our money goes where it should, and it is the children who benefit, we work through a global network of Rugby Champions. They make sure our projects are robust, our money is spent properly, and they help with media and donor visits.

ATLAS’s Rugby Champions are mostly celebrated international rugby legends, including Rugby World Cup winners, and “Centurions” with over 100 international caps.
