Rugby Centurions

Rugby Centurions is a unique rugby initiative and world first, a celebration of that rare and select breed of rugby players who have represented their countries in 100 tests.

These players are a positive influence on rugby and by actively involving them in new initiatives, we’re helping to make rugby more accessible and desirable, and developing the game at grass roots level throughout the world.

ATLAS is grateful for the support of the Rugby Centurions for its work across the world.

Delhi Schools Primary Sponsor Sliders-UK

Thanks to the generosity of Sliders-UK and particularly their Director Alex Murphy, the Schools project in Delhi is reaching hundreds of children in the poorer areas of the city. The uplift in school attendance, achievement and behaviour is remarkable, and we provide support and positive activity beyond the school gate through the great services of the Delhi Hurricanes coaches and players.

Kit donors

On visiting Delhi, our project sponsor, Alex Murphy, asked for donations of kit to give to the children and coaches there. The picture above show only a small element of the donations received including kit, balls, boots, bags, pumps and bibs. Over 1000 items were given from the RFU women’s team and premiership club Leicester Tigers, through generous companies, to individuals.  The challenge now was for Alex and ATLAS’s Sally Pettipher to carry as much as possible on board their flights, with the rest following later as ca.

Our thanks to: British Airways Community, Sabena Moylan and Rachel Middleton from Virgin, Nat West, Rugby Football Union, Richard Austin, Simon Smedley of HGV Direct, John Morris, Tris at RAM Rugby, Jug Johal of Asian Sports Foundation, The Rob Stevenson Trust, Nick Scott, Gareth Thomas, John Rouse, Vanessa Gray, Distinction, Duraflex, Rob Warburton, Patrick Stephenson and Scott Clarke at Leicester Tigers.
The kit we carry will change lives.

Richmond Sponsors Masi U16 captain

Meeting the Masi RFC U16 captain while on tour in South Africa, and learning that his mother recently died, his father is unemployed and his township school is very badly run with teachers who don’t even turn up, the Richmond Academy players were inspired to help this young man reach his academic and sporting potential.

Through ATLAS the Richmond Academy members have established a fund specially for this purpose, bringing new hope to one talented, committed but until now unsupported young man from the Masi RFC.

London Stock Exchange Group Foundation

ATLAS would not be able to provide the help it does to people around the world without the substantial, and often very quiet, support of many people and companies.

One of our most significant supporters this year has been the London Stock Exchange Group through tangible and intangible means. From matching employee fundraising to converting their underground carpark into a bike fitting centre.

RAM Help Again

logo-blanked-out

Thanks again to Ram Rugby for donating a set of women’s shorts which will go straight to Kenya and the Nyumbani village where Maggie Alphonsi is championing a project with women and girls. “The donation is indeed God sent!! Truly I can’t thank you enough for the timing is perfect. “

Rugby Business Network

The Rugby Business Network in the UK and in France have been incredibly supportive of ATLAS, organising and hosting events. Through them we have met new supporters and felt the strength of community in the rugby family through their business lives.
